Up up and away

Thank you, everyone who joined in with me in buying soccer equipment for the trip. My bags are ridiculous. Let's just hope I can carry them across the terminals.

As I reflected in my other blog, flying out on this particular date has some symbolism and trepidation for me, but I insist on fighting hatred with love, violence with peace, bigotry with tolerance, ignorance with understanding, and fear with hope. And, I do have hope for my country. Hope that we can strive to come together somehow, despite the great divides. Hope that we can sacrifice ourselves for the greater good.

Ok, I have gotta go to the airport. I will try to update this blog with a few posts from Haiti, so check back sometimes.

Peace,

Jesse
